Siemens and Invertek Partner on Integrated HVAC-R Control Solutions
Germany: Siemens and Invertek Drives formalised a partnership at Chillventa 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, to develop integrated control solutions for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) applications. The agreement combines Siemens' Climatix application controllers with Invertek Drives' Optidrive Coolvert variable frequency drives (VFDs) for brushless DC compressor systems. The combined solution integrates compressor operating management with motor control and uses Modbus communication for system configuration and integration. Optidrive Coolvert supports rotary and scroll compressors and is certified for operation with A2L and A3 refrigerants, addressing equipment requirements associated with the European Union's F-Gas Regulation.
The partnership will initially focus on European markets, covering applications such as heat pumps, chillers, rooftop units, data centres, condensing units and industrial process cooling. Siemens and Invertek Drives intend to provide equipment manufacturers with integrated controller and drive solutions to support system development, energy management and compliance with Ecodesign requirements. The agreement follows nearly five years of collaboration between the companies in compressor motor control technologies and extends their cooperation in HVAC-R equipment applications.
