Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia has ratified the Kigali Amendment, becoming the 166th country to join the agreement aimed at phasing down the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). The amendment, adopted under the Montreal Protocol, seeks to limit the production and consumption of these greenhouse gases over time.
By ratifying the agreement, Saudi Arabia has committed to reducing HFC use by more than 80 per cent within the next three decades. The move aligns the country with the global framework to cut emissions and support international climate commitments.
