Finland: Oras Group, a Finnish sanitary fittings manufacturer, has reached an agreement with Germany’s Villeroy & Boch Group to acquire its Northern European Gustavsberg and Vatette businesses. The transaction covers both brands and operations across Northern Europe, including a production plant and warehouse in Sweden. Following completion, 330 employees from Gustavsberg and Vatette will transfer to Oras Group. In 2024, Gustavsberg and Vatette recorded net sales of EUR 92.7 million (USD 100.4 million), while Oras Group reported EUR 200.2 million (USD 216.9 million).
The acquisition strengthens Oras Group’s position in Northern Europe, expanding its offering from sanitary fittings to a full bathroom solutions portfolio. Villeroy & Boch stated that the divestment aligns with its strategy to focus on its two global brands, Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard, following the latter’s acquisition in 2023. The company will continue operating in Northern Europe through its Bathroom & Wellness and Dining & Lifestyle businesses. The transaction, for which no value has been disclosed, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025.
