OBI Group Takes Over All OBI Locations in Switzerland
Switzerland: The OBI Group is set to assume control of all OBI stores in Switzerland, including ten existing locations, one Migros OBI store still under construction in Agno, and two large Do it + Garden stores in Carouge and Nyon. Previously operated by Migros under a franchising system, these OBI stores will now be directly managed by the OBI Group. The transfer will take place in phases: OBI stores on 1 April, the Agno location on 2 May 2025, and the Do it + Garden stores on 1 July 2025.
All warranties and services for products purchased at the affected stores will be honored by the OBI Group, ensuring no changes for customers. This divestment aligns with Migros Group’s strategic focus on its core business, announced in February 2024, with sales processes for Micasa and Do it + Garden specialist stores still underway. The transition will not impact Migros Fachmarkt AG, which provides central services for Migros specialist stores. If any adjustments are needed within Migros’ decentralized organizations due to this transition, efforts will be made to find suitable solutions for affected employees.
