AUSTRALIA: The New South Wales (NSW) Government has extended the closing date for the US$1 million Heat Pump Feasibility Grant to November 24, allowing businesses additional time to apply. The grant provides up to US$30,000 to cover 75% of project costs for feasibility studies that assess the potential for switching to heat pump technology. These studies include site screening, heat pump design options based on energy data, and detailed analysis to determine if heat pumps are suitable for the business. The funding is available to NSW businesses that use between 5,000 and 100,000 gigajoules of gas per site annually and meet other eligibility criteria.
The program supports the NSW Government’s US$22 million Business Decarbonisation Program, which encourages businesses to adopt low-emission heating solutions and reduce energy costs. Heat pumps can provide industrial process heat, commercial space heating, pool heating, and hot water, using significantly less energy than gas boilers. The grant aims to help businesses make informed decisions on heating and cooling systems, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and lower operating costs.
