Johnson Controls Expands Turkish Plant to Triple European Commercial Heat Pump Production
Turkey: Johnson Controls has increased production capacity at its Izmir, Türkiye plant with a US$3 million investment to meet rising European demand for commercial heat pumps. The expansion includes new production lines equipped with advanced infrastructure for pressure and leak testing, as well as charging stations to expedite delivery of heat pumps and chillers. The Izmir facility will now produce YORK® YMAE and YORK® YCPB commercial heat pumps, maintaining stock of the YMAE model and offering customized solutions for customers.
The YMAE and YCPB models are air-sourced heat pumps designed for commercial use in settings such as shopping centers, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, and schools. Both utilize R-454B, a low-GWP refrigerant that reduces climate impact by nearly 80% compared to R-410A and has demonstrated its efficiency within Johnson Controls’ YORK product line.
