Uzbekistan: The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has revised the list of home appliances subject to mandatory digital labelling, removing the requirement for several product categories. From 1 July, an experimental digital labelling programme will be introduced for vegetable oil. At the same time, nine categories of electrical appliances have been fully excluded from the labelling framework, including mobile phones and smartphones, radios, electronic scales, electric shavers, dishwashers, microphones and audio recording equipment.
Digital labelling will continue to apply to a defined group of household appliances, with updated HS tariff codes. These include gas stoves, central heating boilers, residential and industrial air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, juicers, mixers, water heaters, televisions and monitors. The revised list also adds selected lighting products and electronic components, such as sealed directional lamps, LED modules, and electronic lamps and tubes. Mandatory digital labelling for household appliances was first introduced in April 2022 and became compulsory in November 2022, following a nine-month transition period for the sale of non-labelled stock.
