UK’s AES Solar Expands into Heat Pump Market with Acquisition of Black Isle Renewables
UK: AES Solar, a Scotland-based renewable energy technology group, has announced the acquisition of Black Isle Renewables, a heating company specializing in ground and air source heat pumps. This move makes AES Solar one of the largest renewable energy companies in Scotland, expanding its expertise in low carbon technologies and market reach. The company, known for supplying solar panel systems for domestic and commercial properties, will now also offer heat pump solutions, including turnkey design and build services for homes and businesses.
AES Solar's technical director, Campbell McLennan, emphasized the efficiency of combining PV panels with heat pumps, especially during winter when electricity demand is high. He noted the importance of sizing solar installations correctly to power heating systems effectively. Commercial director Jamie Di Sotto highlighted the acquisition’s significant impact, stating that it positions AES Solar as a leading provider of renewable energy solutions in Scotland.
