U.S. Shipments of Key HVAC Equipment Decline in June Amid Market Challenges

U.S.: According to the Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), U.S. shipments of gas furnaces, air-conditioning units, and air-source heat pumps fell sharply in June compared to the same month last year, while oil furnaces and residential water heaters saw slight increases. The market continues to adjust to the transition toward A2L-compatible equipment, a shortage of aftermarket R-454B refrigerant for contractors, and uncertainty over the Trump administration’s tariff policy, which was largely clarified on August 7 when varying tariff rates took effect for imports from multiple countries.
