Trane Technologies Launches BrainBox AI Lab for Energy Optimization

Ireland: Trane Technologies, with a market capitalisation of US$96 billion and annual revenue of US$20.7 billion, has launched the BrainBox AI Lab to advance technologies for energy optimisation in HVAC systems and refrigerated transport. The lab will focus on autonomous control systems, predictive models, and algorithms designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions in building operations. “Through the BrainBox AI Lab, we are bringing together world-class talent and cutting-edge technologies to shape the next generation of climate innovation,” said Riaz Raihan, Chief Digital Officer, Trane Technologies.
Jean-Simon Venne, President of BrainBox AI, will lead the initiative, which follows Trane Technologies' acquisition of BrainBox AI in January 2025. The lab will focus on product development, research, and sustainability practices, in line with the company's 2030 carbon emission reduction goals. In addition, Trane Technologies has recently expanded its thermal management solutions for data centres with a new computer room air handler, aiming to improve energy efficiency in server cooling.
