Trane opens third plant in Grand Rapids
Trane has augmented its commercial manufacturing operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan by establishing a third plant that specialises in the production of air-cooled chillers for the data centre and high tech markets. The business predicts that the demand for these items would increase by around 20% by 2027. In 1998, the firm initially set up its manufacturing operations in Grand Rapids. Subsequently, in 2021, a second facility was inaugurated with the specific purpose of producing air-cooled chillers for data centres and other significant commercial sectors, including hospitals, municipalities, and universities. The addition of the new facility significantly enhances the manufacture capacity of the location by producing Ascend air-cooled chillers. It effectively doubles the existing air-cooled chiller manufacturing capability and approximately quadruples the total manufacturing area of the site.
