Trane debuts air-to-water heat pumps
An air-to-water heat pump for home and commercial use has been released by Ireland-based Trane, a maker of heating equipment. Propane (R290), which has a direct global warming potential (GWP) of 0.02 and zero ozone depletion potential (ODP), is the refrigerant used in the new product, Leaf. Its 8 kW to 30 kW heating and cooling outputs are available. The business released a statement saying, "Trane LEAF excels in diverse conditions achieving elevated hot water temperatures in low outdoor air conditions." It provides enhanced hot water at over 75 C even in 0 C outside air and over 60 C in -15 C ambient temperature, making it an excellent replacement for gas boilers in light business and residential buildings. It operates optimally down to -20 C outdoor air. According to the manufacturer, the new system may be expanded modularly to include up to four units. It further stated, "The integration of Building Management System connectivity via Modbus TCP/IP or RTU enhances control and monitoring capabilities, offering users advanced and seamless management options." In addition, the heat pump has EC brushless fans, an electronic expansion valve, and a full scroll compressor that is driven by an inverter.
