Termokos Seeks Contractor for 30 MW Solar Thermal Facility in Kosovo

Kosovo: District heating utility Termokos has initiated the contractor selection process for a 30 MW solar thermal facility near Prishtina as part of the Solar4Kosovo 2 – Solar District Heating project. The project, funded by the European Union’s Western Balkans Investment Framework, Germany’s KfW Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, has a total budget of EUR 81.7 million. The facility will include a solar thermal collector field, seasonal water pit thermal energy storage, a heating plant with an absorption heat pump, and a SCADA system. Additionally, the project includes a 20 MW network extension utilizing heat from the coal-fired Kosovo B power plant.
