Tech-Driven HVAC Startup Jetson Launches Smart, Low-Cost Air c in Canada
Jetson

CANADA: Vancouver-based heat pump startup Jetson has unveiled its first proprietary heat pump, the Jetson Air, as part of its mission to make energy-efficient HVAC systems more affordable. The company, which launched sales in October last year, has already installed nearly 1,000 heat pumps across Colorado, Massachusetts, and British Columbia and is preparing to enter the New York market. CEO Stephen Lake believes Jetson’s combination of new software, hardware, and direct-to-consumer sales is key to driving down prices.

Whole-home ducted heat pump projects in the company’s active markets often cost US$25,000 to US$30,000, but Jetson reports an average installation price of US$15,000 — and in some regions, thanks to upfront rebate applications, homeowners pay as little as US$5,000. Jetson’s vertically integrated model bypasses traditional distributors and installers, storing equipment in its own warehouses and deploying in-house teams in electric vans. Its custom software scopes projects virtually, sizes systems remotely, and processes rebates automatically, streamlining the customer experience.
