Siemens to Deploy Tech at 60 UAE Government Buildings, Saving Up to 27% Energy
UAE: Siemens Smart Infrastructure has partnered with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure on a decarbonization program to retrofit 60 government buildings with advanced energy efficiency technologies. The initiative supports the UAE’s net zero 2050 strategy and aims to achieve a 27% reduction in baseline energy and water consumption annually, equating to a CO2 reduction of 15,400 metric tons. Following a successful pilot project involving seven ministry buildings, Siemens identified energy consumption baselines and anomalies to select suitable buildings for the program. The retrofits will include upgrades to HVAC systems, integration of movement and lighting sensors, and installation of centralized building management systems.
The program will leverage solutions from the Siemens portfolio, an open digital business platform designed to accelerate digital transformation. By modernizing building infrastructure, the initiative is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions while enhancing operational efficiency and user comfort. This project exemplifies the UAE's commitment to sustainable development and Siemens' role in delivering scalable, technology-driven solutions for energy management and decarbonization.
