Selsmart and Lloyd launch appliance exchange programme in India

India: Selsmart, the exchange and recycling platform operated by Attero, has partnered with Lloyd, part of Havells India, to introduce the Lloyd Eco Exchange Program. The initiative allows consumers to exchange old appliances for new Lloyd products, with the assessed value of the old equipment applied towards the purchase. The programme is currently available at selected Havells and Lloyd stores and is expected to extend to partner retailers in markets where Selsmart operates.

Launched in mid-2024, Selsmart operates in more than 25 cities across India and manages around 30,000 pickup orders per month, offering doorstep collection, data wiping, valuation and traceability services for electronics and home appliances. Under the exchange programme, appliances from any brand can be exchanged, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and televisions across multiple formats and capacities. Collected appliances are processed through Attero’s recycling infrastructure, which uses mechanical, hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical methods to recover metals such as copper, gold and silver, with the aim of ensuring responsible recycling and reducing electronic waste.
