Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia has entered into an agreement to export 5,400 locally produced air conditioning units to Egypt during 2025 as part of efforts to expand its non-oil exports. The units, manufactured at the York Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City, will be supplied to a major real estate project in Egypt developed by ORA Co. in collaboration with Raya Corp. The complex, operated by Johnson Controls Arabia, is the company’s largest production facility across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, exporting over 30% of its output to 26 countries, including the United States and China.
The exported units are YORK Hi-End R32 Inverter Hi-Wall systems, developed by the company’s R&D centre in Jeddah and designed to meet regional market requirements. These systems incorporate artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies for efficient temperature and air quality control. The partnership aims to enhance cooperation between Saudi and Egyptian firms while supporting Saudi Arabia’s strategy to strengthen its industrial exports and position itself as a hub for advanced HVAC manufacturing in the region.
