Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Reports FY2025 Growth

Japan: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) reported increases in order intake, revenue, business profit, net income and free cash flow for FY2025. Order intake rose 20% year on year to JPY 7,653.6 billion (approximately USD 51.0 billion), while revenue increased 14% to JPY 4,974.1 billion (approximately USD 33.2 billion). Business profit increased 22% to JPY 432.2 billion (approximately USD 2.9 billion). The company stated that growth in order intake was mainly driven by its Energy Systems business, including Gas Turbine Combined Cycle, Nuclear Power and Engineering projects. Order backlog increased to JPY 13,237.6 billion (approximately USD 88.3 billion) from the end of FY2024.
In the Logistics, Thermal & Drive Systems segment, excluding Mitsubishi Logisnext, order intake declined to JPY 638.1 billion (approximately USD 4.3 billion), while revenue fell to JPY 630.8 billion (approximately USD 4.2 billion). Within this segment, HVAC and car air-conditioning order intake totalled JPY 361.0 billion (approximately USD 2.4 billion), while revenue reached JPY 353.1 billion (approximately USD 2.4 billion). For FY2026, MHI forecasts order intake of JPY 6.8 trillion (approximately USD 45.3 billion), revenue of JPY 5.4 trillion (approximately USD 36.0 billion), and business profit of JPY 540.0 billion (approximately USD 3.6 billion). The company also expects increased sales of engines and HVAC units within its Industrial Solutions business.
