Mitsubishi Distributor Targets Growth in Thai Air Conditioner Market
Thailand: Toshiyuki Iizuka, managing director of Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana Co. Ltd. (MKY), is optimistic about growth in Thailand's air conditioner market, driven by the recovery of the housing sector and increasing demand from the data centre industry. MKY secured the largest market share for room air conditioners, ventilators, and water pumps in 2024. The Thai air conditioning market is projected to grow by 5% in 2025, reaching a total value of 33.5 billion baht (USD 0.96 billion). MKY aims to capture over 30% market share in this fiscal year, supported by its focus on energy-efficient appliances and advanced cooling solutions.
To meet growing demand, MKY is expanding its product portfolio for both residential and commercial segments. For businesses, the company offers variable refrigerant flow systems, commercial chillers, and building management systems tailored to sectors such as hospitals, educational institutions, and factories. MKY plans to invest more than 1.2 billion baht (USD 34 million) in marketing and brand development to strengthen its presence in Thailand's competitive air conditioning market for fiscal 2025.
