UK: Kensa and Sureserve have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the decarbonisation of heating systems in UK social housing. The collaboration brings together Kensa’s expertise in Networked Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHPs) with Sureserve’s capabilities in installation and maintenance services. The partnership intends to deliver an integrated solution encompassing feasibility assessments, design, funding assistance, installation, and long-term servicing. The objective is to support housing associations and public sector bodies in improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and addressing fuel poverty across the UK.
Kensa has manufactured nearly 20,000 GSHP units, including the Shoebox model, which introduced networked systems to flats and dense housing clusters. Sureserve installs over 6,000 renewable energy systems annually and maintains over 1.2 million heating systems, positioning it to support large-scale energy transitions. The partnership is expected to enhance the scale and cost-effectiveness of low-carbon heating initiatives and facilitate access to funding. It aligns with ongoing work by both companies with several UK housing associations and local authorities, including Clarion, Southern Housing Group, Aberdeenshire Council, and others.
