CHINA: Ziehl-Abegg has begun construction of a US$28.9 million manufacturing and R&D facility in Shanghai, China, scheduled to become operational in October 2027. The new site will replace its existing facility in Xinbang Town and expand manufacturing space from 40,000 to 63,000 square metres. Over the next five years, the company plans to increase its workforce in China from around 700 to more than 1,000 employees. The investment will strengthen local engineering and R&D capabilities while supporting growing demand for energy-efficient ventilation and drive technologies, particularly from data centres, AI infrastructure, refrigeration and industrial applications.
