INDIA: Kajaria Ceramics, an Indian tile manufacturer, reported a first-quarter profit that fell more than anticipated due to softened domestic demand during the election period and subdued exports. The company's consolidated net profit decreased to $10.7 million for the quarter ended June 30, down from $12.9 million a year earlier. The decline was exacerbated by heightened competition among domestic players as exports from India slowed due to the Red Sea Crisis.
