Japan: JEXSYS, formerly Nihon Netsugen Systems, has introduced a high-temperature CO2 (R744) heat pump for the Asia–Pacific region capable of producing up to 130°C (266°F) pressurized hot water for industrial processing, featuring a standard heating capacity of 500kW (142.2TR) and a COP of 4.8, with flexibility for larger capacities. Unveiled at HVAC&R Japan 2026 in Tokyo, organized by Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association, the unit was developed over one year and achieved its 130°C target by end-2025, producing 4.2 metric tons of hot water per hour for applications above 100°C (212°F), including sterilization, cleaning and drying, while also generating cold water eligible for Japanese government heat recovery subsidies. The company has installed 760 CO2 units across 240 projects since launching its first CO2 condensing units in 2015, operates equipment in Malaysia and the Philippines, and doubled production capacity with a new factory in Shiga in 2023; it expects to sell 10 units in 2026 as it expands into the heating market to support long-term growth.
