Increased Production Capacity by Croatian Manufacturer Frigo Plus Will Fulfill Increasing Demand for Heat Pumps
EU: The Croatian HVAC&R manufacturer Frigo Plus has stated that it intends to "significantly" expand its manufacturing capacity in order to fulfill the growing demand for heat pumps in Europe. This is in response to the restrictions that the European Union has imposed that require the elimination of boilers that are powered by fossil fuels across the union by the year 2040.
Based on the information provided by Pavao Jerković, Chief Technology Officer at Frigo Plus, the firm perceives the legislation as a distinct opportunity to further develop its portfolio of propane (R290) heat pumps, thereby expanding upon its sixteen years of experience in manufacturing chillers that are based on propane.
In accordance with the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive of the European Union, the gradual shift away from boilers fueled by fossil fuels will begin in January 2025, when subsidies for freestanding boilers will be terminated.
