Greece Announces First 100,000 Beneficiaries of Heating Upgrade Program
Greece

GREECE: Greece has released the first definitive list of more than 100,000 approved beneficiaries under the “Heating System and Water Heater Upgrade Program,” a €645,000,000 (~US$ 745.5 million) initiative aimed at improving home energy efficiency nationwide. Over 5,000 vulnerable households are included, reflecting the program’s strong social focus and its goal of reducing energy costs through the replacement of old heating systems and the installation of modern solar water heaters. The Ministry of Environment and Energy emphasized that the program provides equitable access to clean and efficient heating solutions for citizens across both urban and remote regions.

The Ministry has urged approved beneficiaries to verify their status on the official platform and proceed with selecting eligible suppliers and equipment through the designated registries. Applicants listed under the provisional rejection category may file an appeal within seven calendar days via the digital system. The rollout marks a major step in Greece’s broader commitment to green development, combining energy efficiency upgrades with targeted support for socially vulnerable groups.
