India: HVAC&R sector in India is set for major growth, driven by urbanization, infrastructure expansion, and energy efficiency. A Rs 6700 crore ($ 772.5 million) PLI aims to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce imports, with Rs 5700 crore ($ 657.25 million) already disbursed to companies committed to strengthening local manufacturing and reducing import dependency. Industry leaders highlight HVAC’s role in sustainability, skill development, and retrofitting, despite challenges in energy efficiency and eco-friendly adoption.
