India: Godrej Enterprises Group anticipates a 50-60% surge in air conditioner (AC) sales this summer, fuelled by extreme temperatures and an expanded product range. The company projects over 100% AC sales growth in FY25, reaching 1.4 million units. Kamal Nandi, business head & EVP at the appliances business of Godrej Enterprises Group, stated that the total AC market for FY25 is expected to reach 14-15 million units, with Godrej targeting a 12-13% market share in FY26. With early heatwaves gripping North India, demand for cooling appliances is soaring, and Godrej aims for another 50% growth in FY26, surpassing the industry’s estimated 30% growth.
To address increasing demand, Godrej is planning post-FY26 capacity expansion and exploring exports to Europe, complementing its current shipments to the Middle East and Nepal. The company recently launched a new AC portfolio with various capacities, energy ratings, and advanced technologies. Sabyasachi Gupta, product group head—air conditioners at Godrej Enterprises Group, announced a unique 5-year comprehensive warranty covering service visit charges, gas refills, and remote replacements, alongside easy EMI options to enhance AC adoption.
