Daikin to Supply Heat Pumps for Low Carbon Housing Project with British Gas and Strata
UK: Daikin has joined forces with British Gas and housebuilder Strata to supply heat pumps for a low-carbon housing project in the UK. In alignment with The Future Homes Standard, the initial trial at a Strata development in Kiveton, Rotherham, will equip new homes with Daikin 6-8kW air-source heat pumps, 4kWh solar panels, 5kWh battery storage, and Hive electric vehicle chargers and thermostats. All systems will be connected through Hive’s app, optimizing energy usage, heat schedules, and budgets for homeowners.
British Gas will provide participants with a fixed-rate tailored energy tariff and access to a dedicated energy manager to help optimize the use of the integrated technologies while maintaining comfort levels at the lowest possible cost.
Strata, which constructs over 700 homes annually, plans to collaborate with British Gas and Daikin to identify additional locations for expanding this sustainable housing initiative following the trial's launch.
