Daikin India Announces Air Conditioner Price Increase from April 2026
India: Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. has announced a air conditioner price increase of between 7% and 12% across its product portfolio, effective from April 2026. The adjustment follows rising input costs linked to currency depreciation, higher commodity prices and the implementation of revised energy-efficiency standards. The changes come as manufacturers in the consumer durables sector review pricing structures due to increased production and supply chain costs.
Alongside the announcement, the company presented its 2026 product range, which includes more than 60 room air conditioner models designed to meet the Bureau of Energy Efficiency 2026 star rating requirements. The portfolio also includes the VRV Alpha series for commercial and residential applications. The new systems incorporate features linked to artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies and are designed to operate in temperatures of up to 54 degrees Celsius. The company reported turnover exceeding USD 1,500 million (EUR 1,380 million) and stated that it has invested INR 28,000 million (USD 336 million, EUR 309 million) in its operations in India, including manufacturing facilities and research and development centres.
