Daikin Expects Modest Growth in Thailand's Air Conditioner Market
Thailand: Siam Daikin Sales Co Ltd, the local distributor of Daikin air conditioners, anticipates modest growth in Thailand’s air conditioner market despite a flat economic outlook. While tourism is expanding, real estate developers are expected to launch fewer new projects due to existing backlogs. However, demand for air conditioners is likely to increase, particularly in the business-to-business segment, as data centers expand and real estate operators such as hotels and malls focus on energy efficiency. The company aims to reach out to younger customers, such as first-jobbers, and expand into provincial markets by offering new products at competitive prices. Fierce competition in the market is expected to continue, but Daikin projects revenue growth from 13 billion baht (EUR 370.3 million) in fiscal 2024 to 15 billion baht (EUR 427.3 million) in fiscal 2025, reflecting double-digit growth.
