Malaysia: Cuckoo International (MAL) Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian distributor of Cuckoo-branded home appliances, has announced plans to invest RM10 million (USD 2.1 million) over the next two years to strengthen its presence in Singapore. The company aims to move beyond its established water and air purifiers to include mattresses, air-conditioners, massage chairs, and home care services. The expansion strategy includes opening five additional third-party retail outlets through partners such as Harvey Norman and Audio House, complementing its three existing brand stores.
Chief executive officer Hoe Kian Choon stated that although Singapore currently contributes a small share of revenue, the market holds significant potential despite being highly competitive. Cuckoo Malaysia, listed on Bursa Malaysia with a market capitalisation of about RM1.2 billion (USD 251 million) as of August 29, is the sole distributor of Cuckoo products in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.
