India: Copeland has inaugurated a new Engineering and Technology Center in Pune, Maharashtra, as part of its INR 500 crore (USD 57 million) investment plan in India. The facility spans over 15,000 square meters and houses more than 320 engineers specializing in engineering, research and development, software, and firmware development. The center will focus on energy-efficient and low-GWP refrigerant technologies for the HVAC and refrigeration industry. The facility will also support India’s demand for heating, cooling, cold chain, and industrial solutions, contributing to energy management and decarbonization efforts. The center aims to address the increasing demand for sustainable cooling technologies, particularly in the data center sector, which is expected to grow at over 8% CAGR through 2026, with cooling systems accounting for up to 50% of their energy use.
