China’s Jinsheng Ceramics Announces $100 Million Expansion Project in Jordan

JORDAN: China’s Jinsheng International Ceramics has unveiled a $100 million expansion initiative for this year aimed at establishing complementary industries at its existing facility in Jordan. The investment will enable the launch of 14 new product lines across diverse sectors, largely utilizing locally sourced raw materials, and is projected to generate over 1,000 new jobs. The announcement came during the inauguration of the company’s product exhibition, attended by Zahir Qatarneh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment.
Speaking at the event, Qatarneh reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering both domestic and foreign investments, emphasizing its commitment to creating a supportive environment for business growth in Jordan and its expansion into regional markets. He underscored the significance of developing high value-added industries that leverage local resources and stimulate job creation for Jordanian citizens.
Qatarneh commended Jinsheng’s ongoing efforts to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and expand its presence in the Kingdom, stating that such initiatives reflect global confidence in Jordan’s investment landscape and strengthen the country’s role as a regional industrial hub. He also pointed to the project’s potential for knowledge transfer, advancement of modern industries, and generation of quality employment opportunities.
Jinsheng’s CEO expressed gratitude for Jordan’s favorable investment climate and the Ministry of Investment’s continued support, which he credited for the company’s sustained growth. He highlighted that Jinsheng’s cumulative investment in Jordan has now reached $300 million, with current operations employing 620 Jordanians. Approximately 80% of the company’s raw materials are locally sourced.
The new product portfolio will include tile adhesives, gold-tinted tiles, stair tiles, sanitary ware, lighting, mattresses and accessories, stainless steel products, cardboard, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, sinks, faucets, batteries, ceramics, and carbonated beverages.
