SPAIN: Carrier Global’s Spanish unit and ATuAire have signed a strategic agreement to accelerate deployment of electric heat pumps across hotels, hospitals, industrial sites, multi-residential housing, sports centres, and other commercial buildings in Spain.
The partnership combines Carrier’s HVAC technology and engineering expertise with ATuAire’s capabilities in project financing, energy-saving certificates, public funding access, and renewable energy supply. The two companies have already collaborated on projects involving fossil fuel boiler replacement and upgrades to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and hot water systems.
The agreement comes as Spain steps up support for building electrification through grants, tax incentives, and energy efficiency schemes. According to the companies, public incentives and Energy Saving Certificates can reduce upfront investment for heat pump installations by up to 80%, while heat pumps can cut energy costs by as much as 60%.
