Bosch unveils cold climate heat pump for residential Applications

As per the manufacturer's specifications, the new Inverter Ducted Split (IDS) Ultra heat pump is capable of delivering full heating capability even at an external temperature of -15 C and can continue to function efficiently down to -25 C. Bosch Home Comfort Group, a division of the German industrial conglomerate Robert Bosch GmbH, has just introduced a residential air-to-air heat pump that is specifically engineered for efficient heating in frigid areas.

The manufacturer stated that the air-to-air heat pump was specifically designed for regions with severe winter conditions, distinguishing it from the majority of similar products. Historically, air-source heat pumps have been advantageous due to their comparatively inexpensive cost and straightforward installation process. Additionally, similar to other heat pumps, they possess the capability to both heat and cool. Nevertheless, they are hindered by their inefficiency in extremely low temperatures.
