India: Bajaj Electricals reported a consolidated net loss of 341 million rupees (USD 3.76 million) for the quarter ended 31 December, marking a reversal from a profit of 333.6 million rupees in the same period last year. The loss was attributed to a one-time expense related to India’s revised labour codes.
The company's consumer products division, which includes fans and home appliances and accounts for the majority of its revenue, saw a 25 percent year-on-year decline in revenue. This contributed to an overall 19 percent drop in total operating revenue, which stood at 10.51 billion rupees (USD 116 million) for the quarter.
