AC manufacturers Wish to Capitalize on India's Hot Summer Forecasts

India: The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) predictions of a longer-than-average heatwave this summer have given producers of air conditioners cause for celebration. India's AC manufacturers have stocked up and are introducing a new line of summer gadgets for the general public.

In the recently ended 2023–24 year, Voltas sold the most ACs ever. The company saw a 35% increase in production and produced over two million AC units throughout the year. The company ascribed the increase in revenue to a number of factors, including a year-round need for cooling equipment.

Another player in this market, Blue Star, introduced a line of room air conditioners this week. The organization observed that the growing middle-class consumer base with increased disposable money is driving significant demand in the sector. Additionally, room air conditioners are becoming less of a luxury and more of a necessity due to the intense heat.
