AAON to Invest $238M in Tennessee, Adding 828 Jobs
US: AAON, Inc. will invest $238 million to establish a new production facility in Memphis, Tennessee. The company will utilize the former American Snuff facility for its operations, which will focus on manufacturing thermal management equipment for data centers under the BASX brand. This includes air-cooled systems, CRAHs, direct evaporative coolers, and CDUs.
The 787,000-square-foot facility is expected to create 828 new jobs over the next five years. CEO Gary Fields stated, "The expansion of our production capacity through the purchase of this new facility marks a new chapter for AAON," emphasizing the company's focus on serving the growing data center market and its commitment to Memphis.
Governor Bill Lee welcomed the investment, noting its potential to strengthen Tennessee’s workforce and economy. TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter remarked on Memphis's strategic advantages, including access to water, rail, and international logistics.
