Global: A.O. Smith Corporation announced that Executive Chairman Kevin Wheeler will retire from his role on 1 July 2026. Following his departure, President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen Shafer will assume the position of Chairman of the Board, while Wheeler will continue to serve as a board member. The company stated that the transition follows more than three decades of leadership by Wheeler.
A.O. Smith manufactures water heaters, boilers and water treatment products, with North America accounting for approximately 80% of its sales. The company has a market capitalisation of USD 8.09 billion and reported a financial strength rating of 8 out of 10. It holds an estimated 36% share of the residential water heater market and 52% of the commercial water heater market in North America.
