Woodio Invest in New Production Site Lahti, Finland
Finland: In order to grow and expand globally, Woodio raised more than 16 million euros in growth capital last summer. At a cost of roughly 7 million euros, the new factory in Lahti, Finland, is scheduled to be finished in the spring of 2025. This will allow production to be greatly streamlined in order to meet the increasing demand. In bathrooms and interior design, Woodio's invention—a 100% waterproof wood composite—is intended to serve as an environmentally friendly substitute for ceramics and other materials with a high carbon footprint.
The Finnish start-up Woodio, which was established in Helsinki in 2015 and released its first goods on the market in 2019, is making great strides in its development as it moves from a pilot factory setting to a more expansive manufacturing capacity made possible by the new facility in Lahti. The new factory's design is advanced, and Lahti is scheduled to start producing goods in the spring of 2025.
An estimated 40% of annual carbon emissions worldwide are attributed to the construction industry. Compared to standard ceramic sanitaryware, Woodio has much reduced carbon emissions because of its raw material and energy-efficient manufacturing process.
