Serbia: The northern Serbian province of Vojvodina has awarded a consortium of three Serbian firms a contract for the first phase of a EUR 14.5 million (USD 16.7 million) project aimed at improving energy efficiency in public buildings, according to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The EUR 10.6 million (USD 12.2 million) contract was signed earlier this month with Arhikom, based in Novi Sad, Milinkovic Company from Belgrade, and Simbo Gradnja from Veternik.
The EBRD is financing the project with a EUR 12 million (USD 13.8 million) loan. The remaining funds are being provided through grants from the European Union and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance energy performance in public infrastructure across the region.
