Vietnam Urges Acceleration of Affordable Housing Development

Vietnam: Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed ministries and local authorities to take stronger action to expand the supply of affordable housing and stabilise the real estate market. The directive follows continued increases in housing prices across several regions, which have risen beyond the reach of many citizens due to limited availability of affordable commercial homes, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
The prime minister instructed officials to implement decisive measures to boost housing construction, regulate prices and ensure adequate supply. He also called for faster progress on social housing projects, with a goal of exceeding the government’s target of 100,000 completed social housing units by 2025.
