GERMANY: Viessmann Canada, a subsidiary of Germany-based Viessmann Climate Solutions under Carrier Global Corporation, has introduced new air-to-air ductless heat pump systems designed for extreme climates.

According to the company, these heat pumps are ideal for retrofits or home additions where installing ductwork is either costly or impractical. The new systems are compatible with existing HVAC line sets, ducts, air handlers, and furnaces, enhancing their versatility. They utilize R-410a refrigerant and are available in three models:

Vitocal 100-S Ductless Single-Zone Heat Pump – Suitable for individual spaces, with capacities ranging from 6,000 Btu/h to 58,000 Btu/h. It offers a coefficient of performance (COP) between 1.80 at -15°C and 3.54 at 8.3°C, with a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER2) of 28.1 and a heating seasonal performance factor (HSPF2) of 13.6.

Vitocal 100-S Ducted Single-Zone Heat Pump – Combines inverter technology with traditional HVAC systems, with a capacity of 18,000 Btu/h to 60,000 Btu/h. It features a COP ranging from 1.85 at -15°C to 3.50 at 8.3°C, along with SEER2 and HSPF2 ratings of 18.0 and 9.8, respectively. Vitocal 200-S Ductless Multi-Zone Heat Pump – Designed for heating and cooling multiple spaces efficiently.

All models are engineered to deliver reliable performance in extreme temperature conditions, ranging from -30°C to 50°C, ensuring year-round comfort.
