Türkiye: In July 2026, Türkiye launched its first National Cooling Action Plan (NCAP) to support the transition towards sustainable, energy-efficient and climate-resilient cooling systems. Developed over three years, the plan focuses on improving energy efficiency, reducing pressure on electricity grids and protecting health and critical supply chains during heatwaves. The initiative is particularly significant given Türkiye’s strong position in the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry, with around US$310 million of air-conditioning equipment exported to the EU annually. The plan is expected to encourage greater investment in efficient cooling technologies and strengthen Türkiye’s role in the transition towards sustainable cooling across domestic and international markets.
