INDIA: Indian air cooler manufacturer Symphony is expanding beyond its core air cooler business by entering the room air conditioner segment in the domestic market. The company also plans to make a calibrated and phased entry into BLDC ceiling fans and air purifiers, marking its expansion into adjacent consumer durable categories.

The new products are expected to be introduced selectively across product ranges, geographic markets and distribution channels starting from the December quarter. The expansion forms part of Symphony’s strategy to strengthen its “Beyond India Summer Products” (BISP) portfolio, while continuing to reinforce its position in the household air cooler market.

Symphony is expected to leverage its existing capabilities in cooling technologies, brand development, distribution, consumer insights and after-sales service to support the expansion. The company will adopt an asset-light approach, with the new products to be manufactured through third-party original design manufacturers (ODMs). The move is expected to enable Symphony to diversify its revenue base beyond seasonal air cooler demand and establish a presence across a broader range of consumer cooling and indoor air-quality products.
