Singapore: Autodesk, in collaboration with Deloitte, has released the 2025 edition of its State of Digital Adoption in the Construction Industry report, based on responses from 894 construction firms across six Asia Pacific markets including Singapore, Australia, Japan, India, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. The findings highlight that construction businesses in the region are using an average of 6.2 technologies, up 20% from the previous year. The use of technology is increasingly being recognised as a key driver of growth, with more firms citing benefits such as improved project delivery, enhanced financial performance, and fewer safety incidents. Companies with advanced digital adoption reported 1.5% more projects delivered under budget and 1.1% more completed on time. For a typical firm generating S$100 million (USD 74 million) in revenue, this equates to an additional S$1.14 million (USD 0.84 million) in revenue and a 50% lower likelihood of safety incidents.
Singapore was identified as a leader in digital adoption within the region. Construction firms in the country are currently using an average of 7.3 technologies, representing a 46% rise from the previous year, and higher than the Asia Pacific average of 6.2. Around 28% of sector expenditure is now allocated to new technology, up from 21% the year before. This progress is supported by government initiatives such as the Building and Construction Authority’s Built Environment Industry Transformation Map, which makes tools like Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data standards mandatory for contracts. The authority is also promoting Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD), aimed at improving project efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing site safety.
