Korea: Samsung Electronics has acquired 100% of FläktGroup Holding GmbH, a German HVAC company, for GEP 1.5 billion (USD 1.68 billion), marking its largest acquisition since the 2017 purchase of Harman International. The deal, signed with European investment firm Triton, supports Samsung’s ambition to become a global leader in HVAC by integrating FläktGroup’s applied HVAC solutions with its own growing portfolio.
FläktGroup, headquartered in Herne, Germany, specializes in energy-efficient air systems for commercial facilities such as data centers, airports, and museums. The acquisition is part of Samsung's broader strategy to develop future growth engines across HVAC, robotics, medical tech, and audio. With the global HVAC market projected to grow from USD 61 billion in 2024 to USD 99 billion by 2030, Samsung plans to leverage FläktGroup’s control technologies alongside its own building integration systems to offer end-to-end energy management solutions. This follows Samsung’s HVAC joint venture with Lennox International in May 2024, aimed at expanding its North American footprint.
