UK: The four-year framework helps housing providers and local authorities deliver large-scale retrofit programmes aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions in homes across the UK. Developed in line with Procure Plus’ four-pillar approach to social housing procurement, focused on cost efficiency, quality and compliance, innovation, and social value, the framework emphasizes skills development, supply chain resilience, and positive outcomes for residents and communities.
Paul Smith, Managing Director of NIBE Energy Systems (UK), said: “This framework plays a pivotal role in scaling up the delivery of low-carbon heating across the UK’s social housing stock. Being selected across multiple lots underlines NIBE’s expertise and commitment to supporting housing providers in achieving their decarbonisation goals. Our product range, training programmes and service network are all designed to ensure long-term reliability and comfort for residents, while helping landlords reduce emissions and energy costs.”
NIBE’s approach includes investment in installer training, long-term technical support, and close collaboration with housing providers to ensure solutions are suitable for a wide range of property types. The appointment builds on NIBE’s proven track record in delivering renewable heating solutions through previous Procure Plus frameworks. A notable example is its work with Northwards Housing in Manchester, where NIBE supplied heat pump technology as part of a retrofit programme that improved energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and enhanced resident comfort.
The framework is expected to enable thousands of renewable heating installations over the coming years, making a significant contribution to the UK’s net zero targets and efforts to combat fuel poverty.
