United Arab Emirates Reports Sectoral Developments in 2025

UAE: The United Arab Emirates recorded developments across the energy, infrastructure, maritime transport, housing and digital transformation sectors in 2025, reflecting the implementation of national plans during the year. In the housing sector, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure issued three thousand five hundred and sixty-seven housing support decisions, with a total value AED 2.546 billion (approximately USD 693 million). The decisions covered housing grants, loans and housing financing arrangements.
As a result of these measures, the homeownership rate among United Arab Emirates citizens reached ninety one percent in 2025. During the same period, the United Arab Emirates assumed the presidency of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme General Assembly for the first time and obtained membership of its Executive Council. In the energy sector, the country launched the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance in 2025, with participation from more than forty countries and international organisations, focusing on cooperation related to energy efficiency and consumption reduction.
