Lasselsberger Expands Production with New Energy-Efficient Tile Lines in Czech Republic
Czech Republic: The Lasselsberger Group, a major European ceramic producer with manufacturing facilities in Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Russia, has recently launched two new production lines at its factory in Borovany, Czech Republic. These lines are designed for the production of large-format tiles, with sizes up to 120x240 cm and thicknesses ranging from 8 mm to 20 mm. The technology supplier for this project was Gruppo B&T, which provided equipment designed to maximise energy efficiency and minimise consumption.
The installation includes two 7-tier horizontal dryers, a Titanium twin-channel kiln, and advanced hot air recovery systems, which together contribute to significant energy savings and reduced emissions. The innovative firing technology of the Titanium kiln allows for a reduction in fuel consumption by over 30%.
To further enhance production efficiency, Lasselsberger incorporated storage, loading, and unloading stations along with B&T-branded LGV automatic handling systems. The glazing line was provided by Projecta, a specialist in digital decoration technologies. For product finishing, the company chose two cutting and squaring lines manufactured by Ancora, which are equipped with advanced tools to ensure optimal production efficiency for both standard and thicker tiles. These upgrades are expected to improve the operational capacity of Lasselsberger's facility, while maintaining sustainability and energy efficiency.
